Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born on the 12th of November, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was first person to reach a flawless 10 on an Olympic occasion. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci when she was just 6 years old. At first, she competed in the national junior championships in Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. In 1970, she won. She won three golds in her debut competition at a junior Olympic meet in 1972, which was a communist bloc countries. The following year, 1973 as well as 1974, she became the junior champion in all-round competitions. At her first competition as a senior, in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva, a five-time European champion winning four gold medals as well as one silver.
