April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July, started taking piano and guitar lessons from age seven. She was interested in creating songs was sparked. The first song she wrote was called Different, which she wrote at 12 years of age. When she was 14 April, she spent a lot of time writing lyrics and perfecting her musical ability. In the following months, she began taking notes along with her father on trips to LA in addition to NY. The month also saw her include different topics related to some of her friends dealing with such things as bullying by peers and teen suicide in the song"Take" my Hand. Lockhart has her own fan base and works as a lifestyle blogger at the renowned Ilia the Clean Beauty brand. She has a disability that is a component of her persona, however it's not all of the image. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap in her posts on Instagram, however she isn't making it the focal point of her story. It's a message. That we all contain multitudes of identities and that we are more than our physical selves. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart via video "I don't think that should define me. It's not my intention to have an impact on disabilities because I've got plenty to offer." My day-today life is not affected by it. I live my normal, everyday life and find myself solutions for problems. The same is true for me, and I believe it should be discussed. Lockhart who is an source of inspiration for anyone who wants to be self-accepting she is on a long journey to achieve the goal. Lockhart admits to having had periods where she felt uncomfortable in dressing in certain styles that exposed her arms. She can wear whatever she'd like, and is proud to share photos of herself in these outfits. Self-love for her was a long journey. It's true for all regardless of level of insecurity. It's essential to have those that know and understand the way you feel. They'll be the ones who ask what you think about?
